  • Nice app, great content

I’ve enjoyed The Great Courses for some time now. Having recently started using the app, I appreciate that I can access everything via my phone. At present however, the app itself suffers from some clunky UI and UX. Some examples: 1.) Upon opening the app, one has to navigate back to the lecture they were last listening to. Why not start there (as you might do via a podcast app) and provide a navigation option back to the main course listings? 2.) As a mobile user, one might assume that I would want to use the download feature to preload my current course for viewing later rather than use my data. I’d love a “download all lectures for this course” button. Additionally, I shouldn’t have to reconfirm via a pop-up prompt that I want to download a course. 3.) The video UI often stutters and freezes when re-opening the app with the phone in landscape mode. I don’t want to sound overly critical. None of things I’ve come across are deal breakers. But another round of revisions to smooth out the wrinkles of the app would go a long way.
  • An educational buffet!

I am loving having the whole Great Courses library at my fingertips and having the flexibility of watching or listening, finishing a whole course or selecting specific lectures that interest me, and trying new topics I would never otherwise be able to study. If you love to learn, I cannot recommend Great Courses Plus enough.
  • Great content, app is a total absolute FAIL

No audio only (for driving etc and for those who do not want video) No playback speed controls (I normally listen at 1.5 to my Audible content) App loses its place constantly. Even time app is re-started, nasty and cumbersome process to get back to where one was. Etc Many billing issues (unauthorized billing) App downloads course material over cellular even when told to use wifi only. The Great Courses content is notably decent to good. They could have a winner here, if the developers and the management at The Great Courses had any respect for their customers, and provided even a C- app. They don't. Hope someday that changes. This app gets an F.

The app needs work. Great content. Excruciating load times no matter the state of my connectivity.
  • I want to cancel

I did not realize this was not a free app. I didn’t read closely. I need to cancel and can’t seem to find where I can go to do that. Rebecca Leonard Topekateacher

Courses are great, app is buggy. Freezes/ hangs most every time but eventually works
  • Great Courses Grievious App

This app is clunky not intuitive, the other great courses app should have been mirrored; that was designed with iPhone X in mind. I would like a YouTube like interface please and I’ll raise these stars.
  • Better than I thought

I really like this app. It’s like a college course on any subject right at your fingertips. I wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to a subscription (because I’m kinda cheap, truth be told), but this app has really made me happy. Well worth it, and I highly recommend it to anyone with any intellectual curiosity at all.
  • Amazing!

I am a college professor so I spend a great deal of time teaching and preparing for my own classes. It is wonderful to be able to sit back and listen to some of academia’s finest minds teaching on topics I never would have had the chance to research myself.
