SurgeChaser is a utility for Uber drivers that helps track and chase the surge. Create checkpoints, enable notifications, and receive notifications whenever the surge exceeds the threshold you set (custom to each checkpoint).
Don't waste your time with this.
For starters, it's a useless app because it doesn't update fast enough. The surge sometimes has already been surging for sometimes a minute or two before the app notifies you of the surge. I've been notified of the surge when it already has gone down. Also, there is a feature called "near me" it's supposed to notify you when there is a surge wherever you are currently located, but this does not work correctly. And lastly, if you report a bug, or send an email to tech-support they don't respond. Too bad, it's a good idea but poorly managed and executed.
Update on Apr 13th, 2017 review
I was pleased to see an update for the app, hoped that the crashing issue had been fixed. It has not. I can link my Uber account, but as soon as the app asks for location permissions, there is a quick flash and its back to the home screen.
In its current state, it's unusable.
$$$ BUT WORTH IT
If you drive for Uber in a rural area, this app is a must.
Enter multiple locations to check surges & develop a plan to maximize your time.
If you have to buy the app was okay, but, they ask for monthly payments 😳
Nice app. Better than the others
Great app. Let's me track surfer. History and graphing is much better in this app than most.
Please also add a feature where I can click on the surge and waze will automatically come up to take me to the surge location.
By I like my I phone
This app works pretty well tracking surge over multiple locations.
It would be an awesome improvement if you could display the surge right on the dashboard/map. Either by writing the amount of surge over top of the pin or changing the pin color the higher the surge goes. Yellow 1.5, Orange 1.7 red 2.0+. Just a thought!
Or maybe a one page summery of all your pins and the current rate at them. (This would have to refresh automatically every 5 min to track current rates.)
