You have to pay to initiate a conversation. And don’t call me cheap— I’ve already got my hormones, and surgeries, and other costs of being trans to worry about without having to pay to meet a nice guy....
  • Use Grindr with “Trans” search filter instead.

You have to pay for the monthly subscription service just to be able to message people, even people you’ve matched with... That alone should tell you everything you need to know about this app. I tried out the subscription service for a month. It was about $15 - $16 and within that month I had already swiped left or right on every available person in my city and surrounding areas. So basically after that first month, you’re just paying to swipe at those 2 or 3 people in your city who make a new account, otherwise, you’re swiping people that live several hundreds of miles away I got plenty of matches, but for whatever reason, like 95% of them ended up just never replying again after our initial conversation. I know that’s not really an issue specific to this app, but at least other dating apps aren’t charging you money just to talk to people! Also, the push notifications are annoying; I’m getting notifications that people have liked me or viewed my profile, but I can’t open those sections just to get rid of the notifications because (that’s right, you guessed it!) it’s a “premium” feature! So for every new visitor or like you get, the numbers next to the app icon rack up, and there’s no way to get rid of them. When you do get an actual message notification, it’s hard to even tell because the number next to the app icon is always growing. It’s a shame this app is so heavily reliant on monthly subscriptions, because it really does have the potential to be quality Trans dating app. But instead of imbedded advertisements, they restricted your freedom to message people. Instead of implementing features like the “super like” or “rewind” from Tinder, they chose to remove basic dating app features and instead offer them as premium features. As I’ve said in the title, you’re much better off using Grindr, setting your “tribe” to Trans, and then filtering your searches by “My Type.” I know you might be thinking, “Isn’t Grindr for gay guys?” but there are actually plenty of straight guys looking for trans people, and vice versa. At the very least, get both Grindr and this app, that way you’ll at least be somewhat familiar with Grindr by the time you realize what a worthless money-grab this app is.

Paying app. Cannot message anyone without paying. Even in SF most contacts are hundreds of mile away.
  • Bad business model

You have to pay to see any of the matches so this setup is not beneficial as anyone could be sending me messages that works for the app makers and drives subscriptions with fake profiles. No thanks
  • Don’t waste your time

It’s exploitation to the transgender community. You don’t see most dating apps like pof, meetme,Badoo, tagged etc charging just to send/receive messages. Only messages you will get are from old men 500 miles away from you because the app doesn’t even property filter the people by distance even when you put the filter on lol it’s a mess.
  • Nothing but gross guys

Don’t waste your money. Most of the men I’ve come across are not very appealing. Add to that, the app lists CD’s, TV’s and transgender individuals all as one category. Personally, I believe that there’s a big difference between someone who identifies as transgender as opposed to someone for whom dressing as the opposite sex is just that, dressing up. Anyway, I live in LA and have not met anyone through this app so time to move on.

It’s good, they need to find a way of making it easier to find people who are relatively close. I feel like there are a lot of people that are faaaaar away.
