    Disclosure - I'm a mobile/web service developer. I'd be pretty ashamed of this app. Seriously, DirectTV will lose customers on the app alone. I use it always on Chromecast and the glaring problem is that once you connect and if the app restarts, loses connection, etc you can no longer cast to the chromecast without having to disconnect the old connection first, even if it's from the same device. This is not a hard problem to solve. Fix it. Otherwise I'm going to YouTube TV. Finding sports events is terrible. You have to type the exact title of the event to get it to show. I.e. type NBA during the NBA playoffs and you get terrible keyword results when 99% of the search is looking for NBA playoffs games. I basically have to go to ESPN and find the network that it's on and go to that channel directly. This is no longer 1980, please do some basic search algorithm to present the most relevant results. Do your own employees use the app??

    In the middle of a program, the sound will suddenly disappear, yet if I try to go backwards, it will hit the commercials, which will always have sound!!! This is embarrassing for a company like AT&T!

    I recently purchased the directTV now app even after reading all these horrible negative reviews on here. I did it based on the fact that I knew it was a matter of time until it was really good well the wait is over. There has been zero lag not once had it buffered it’s an amazing app with a low cost. This is what cutting the cord is all about. Now they need to get there prices way down the base price should be $10.99. For now this is one of the greatest purchases me and my wife have made despite the reviews.

    I kept getting an error message when I try to open it, for 3 days running. They say they're working on it, but no fix in sight. Finally dumped it.

    Channel lineup is good. I mostly use this as a gateway to access network apps. I only have two issues with this app... 1) the guid only tells you what is playing. There is no additional information provided (episode details, tv ratings, cast, etc...) 2) every other tine I launch the app, I run into a video issue with some of the channels. This happens when I switch from DirecTV now to another app and then back to DirecTV. I end up receiving audio with no picture. Restarting my Apple TV does however correct this issue. But who wants to do that every time?!?

    This app is designed to take your $30 a month until you are SO sick and tired of app crashes on the phone iPad and AppleTV that you throw them down and pay for DirecTV $120 satellite tv with DVR. You’re in the middle of watching a pre-recorded show on Directvnow and suddenly? It rewinds to the beginning OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN therefore you never complete the show!
  • Solid TV streaming app

    When Directv Now fist came out there were several bugs and the app kept freezing. Came back to Directv Now about a year later and a lot has improved. For me a least, the app is more stable and reliable than in previous outings.
  • Terrible app with the worst response time

    Channel lineup is the ONLY reason we've stayed on. The response time is worse than a dial up connection. Choosing a show or channel it resets back to the Amazon fire menu every single time. Terrible terrible product. Moving off as soon as I choose a new provider. We have Fios gig package, internet speed is not the issue btw.

    I just got this service a week ago and have yet to watch anything! The concept is great but everything blinks or gives me a black screen (on iPad). Looks like I'm going back to Hulu and Netflix. I've tried rebooting, deleting and re-adding the app and still no change.
