I am sooooooo tired of having apps that immediately want you to sign your soul over to them. What ever happened to privacy. I don’t sit and tweet all day, i don’t slobber all over Facebook—i take pictures. And frankly i don’t need this app to excel at what i do. They should be more grateful that people download their app instead of immediately putting a collar around our necks like we’re their pets. Delete.

I completely screwed myself with this one. There's nothing on this app that I can't replicate on the photo editor that came with my tablet and phone. Aside from just a couple of the free filters, I didn't see any that looked good. Some just completely blew out the highlights, others amped the contrast to an unpleasant level. I don't know what else this app will do because I'm not going to spend the money to find out.

your app literally tricked me into purchasing every sub-par filter it bestows for 19.99 when i was trying to simply sample a filter pack for 3.99. the filters aren’t nearly as good as your paid instagram sponsership advertises and i’d really like my $20 back seeing as i don’t have the luxury of spending that kind of money on awful apps.

The app is a joke, a complete waste of time. I tried the free version (which didn't take long, as it turned out, since you only get allowed access to 5 FILTERS. FIVE OF THEM, PEOPLE. That's what you get for bothering to try their app, it's an insult and a waste of your time. Also? They're nothing special. No amazing CARBON magic is apparent. I tried them on a few different pics of mine. All were meh. Filter Snoozeville. Zzz. There's nothing to see here but a cool looking front page, and a lousy interface. The editor features are awkward, really (REALLY) bad, and it's glitchy eg. when I dialed up the brightness my photo kept flipping to landscape orientation and in a different size. This app makes even the simple Instagram editor look like a genius. I don't know who is writing all these other reviews, but no photographer or digital artist that I know would EVER put their good name on a positive review of this completely garbage app-if you're thinking the good stuff must be on the paid access area, get ready to look like a sucker. No wonder the people who PAID for access to more filters are furious and feel like CHUMPS. I didn't cough up a dime and still feel like I've been had. I took the time to write this review because it only reinforces what I think about app ratings as useful indicators, because as it write this? Carbon has a 4.6/5 star rating, and THAT, my friends-IS A HILARIOUS JOKE. Look, if you want a solid, rounded, photo editing app, and are (like me) tired af of being jacked around by app owners like this(who are clearly all flash and empty promises, eg. even if you put the filter thing aside, this "photo editor" doesn't even have a passing BASIC editor, comeONNN) go look at Polarr. I had the free for a week, LOVED it and threw down for the Pro version (then, a one time price). They amped up their game, added new, overhauled and improved the product based on cust. feedback, eg. enhancing the RAW image file editor. ***They use a monthly fee system now, and could have jacked over older Pro customers like me. Instead, we got a huge "thank you" and the new Polarr product in it's entirety. GRATIS. FREE. NO EXTRA CHARGES. NO MONTHLY FEES. AND FOREVER. Carbon, go buy Polarr and see how it's done, then go back to your drawing boards and design a REAL product. Like one that works and stuff. What people already PAID YOU TO PROVIDE

One night while using the app I accidentally downloaded/purchased all the filters & textures because of the in-app purchase feature & finger print scanner on iphones (which has since been turned off to avoid that from happening again). I landed in a bit of a panic because I figured if I messaged Livintis they'd probably respond that there was nothing they could do because I'm an idiot. BOY. WAS. I. WRONG. I got an immediate response from the creator of the app apologizing for the mixup & asking me to send him proof of purchase & my paypal info so he can send a refund. While I hadn't actually been charged yet it took a few days for me to send that info to him. Once I sent it my refund was immediate! I couldn't believe how understanding he was of the situation when he could've responded "sorry you're an idiot I can't help you" & leave it at that but he totally understood & helped me out. While I don't have all the fancy filters, using the filters the free pack offers I'll still continue to use the app because I like what it has to offer & because of how Livintis handled everything. I'll be sure to check out what other app's they have to offer now & in the future. A great app & great customer service. Keep up the amazing work everyone!

    Not bad for editing
  • Don’t download expecting anything useful for free

I downloaded because it looked like a well designed black and white photo editor. Unfortunately, not even a single filter is available without purchase. Not even as a demo or trial. Better iterations of the “unlocked” editing functionality can be found elsewhere. I expect in-app upselling but this just wastes my time. If you’re going to charge for even the basics, why not just make it a paid app?
