    The problem could have only happened to my N. Y. Times app. a few moments ago, and I could have jumped to a “wrong” conclusion. For an article named “Ex’rested,” there is a “gesture” icon. I tapped this icon and tried to tap an icon with four arrows. This second icon didn’t function. I imagine that this 2nd icon is supposed to enlarge a document. I thank you for making the document available to me; I’m happy to be able to read this document. I thank you for taking the time to read my comment.

    It’s unfortunate that the app still shows countless ads even though I pay the monthly subscription. The student discount is nice, and the content is interesting, but the ads are very annoying and distracting from the actual content.

    The app is very straightforward. The design for displaying stories is nice however the article pages seem unfinished. Navigating off the app and back on later may sometimes lead to losing your spot in an article. App doesn’t offer many features other than reading their articles and listening to their podcasts. Additionally, a paid subscriber ought not to be subjected to continuous advertising within the app’s Home screen and articles. Overall, an app that gets the job done and nothing more. Edit: share button doesn’t work. Downgraded to two stars. (Sharing is important when it comes to journalism, on would think)
  • "All Digital Access" does not work on other devices

    Don’t purchase a digital subscription to the Times through iTunes—it may not work on other devices and no one will take responsibility. I’ve paid for “All Digital Access” through the app for years, in an account under my email address. Recently it stopped working on my computer. I contacted the Times support, and they claim there’s no account under that email address—even though I am still paying and it’s working on the app! They suggest I call Apple, who of course have no control over New York Times permissions. The same thing has happened to me with multiple NYT products sold through iTunes; the NYT permissions web is a mess.
  • Super intrusive ads ruin experience

    As a subscriber to your premium services, why are we targeted with extremely irritating intrusive ads? The video ads automatically open full screen and some ads open my browser repeatedly. You need to do two things 1) remove ads from your premium subscribers and 2) do not tolerate intrusive ads from ad networks such as your video ads. When you use it yourself, you'll understand what I mean.
  • Add night mode please!!

    Received a warning that I was running short on memory today on the IPad. Review of my app's indicated the the NYTimes app was using 1.2 gigs!!!!!!!!!!! Only way to reduce usage is to delete and reinstall. Why?
  • Way too many ads for paying subscribers

    Being a paying subscriber, I find the large number of ads extremely annoying and frustrating. A single article can have as many as 6 ads as you scroll down, oftentimes repetitive low quality ads.
  • Ad placement within articles is utterly ridiculous

    Scrolling through articles you are greeted with multiple ad banner ads along with video feeds creating an abusive reading experience. What could they possibly be thinking? Will likely cancel my subscription.
  • Should be Embarrassed

    Success is always about execution. I have be a Times reader for over 50 years and am giving up and not because of their reporting or content but because they can’t get their “product” to me. Home delivery kept getting later so I went to the electronic version. Why content on the iPad app is two days old defies logic but it is. Bad execution ruins a great product every time. I wasn’t surprised to see the 2.1 rating when I came here to write this review.
