  • A Well Conceived Idea but Poorly Operating

Me and my partner are co on-site property managers of a building in LA. Upon reading the description for the app, we thought it was the best decision between Google Voice, etc. to not only protect our private numbers from tenants but also if someone called or texted we would both receive it at the same time on the same number. And it does that - to an extent. The best and most operational part of Line2 is via texting, if someone sends a text we usually get it at the same time without an issue. However, texting back pictures is an issue as you can only send 1 at a time and a lot of the times it won’t go through period, or will take about 30 seconds to go through - which leads me to the phone portion. YOU MUST BE CONNECTED TO WI-FI FOR THIS TO OPERATE, but even if you are connected, a good 50% of the time only one of us will get the call, or it will go straight to VM, or it will drop the call, or it will show someone has called 3-5 times (and we’ll think it was an emergency) when really they only called once. The worst part is when the call won’t connect - you try to call someone back with full bars and it will just say “call disconnected” without ringing a single time. Also, something I wish we knew beforehand, is that both people don’t get the call simultaneously. The call goes to me first (I don’t know if that’s a coincidence or because I registered) and then after like 4-5 rings it will start ringing on his phone. Again, the idea of this service is great and it’s necessary for our job but the upfront cost of nearly $100 isn’t really worth the constant frustration of it not working - I’m torn on the rating because it’s something we use every day but also have problems with.

Good product. I use it for my business line. I would not say connection is as good as a standard wireless network but it gets the job done.
  • Mostly great

Reliable enough to use for my business. Works well internationally with WiFi. Sometimes shows you have an unchecked message for days after you’ve checked & opened every message. Can be frustrating.
  • No spam filter

This line has become a 100% spam line. Line2 has no spam block and I’m inundated with so much spam I don’t even answer any longer. I use it for filtering through when I listen to messages. They tell me to block individual numbers. But spammers never use the same one twice. I’m looking for a new service.

Line 2 is great for my needs, however sometimes the texts do not come through in a timely manner. I have had texts arrive hours later. Other than that it is a great product.

I had a lot of problems, sometimes my app logs out without me knowing it, that cost me business. I am learning as I go, had the app over year. I am not too impressed yet, if I knew of a better one, I would try it. It doesn't do everything a smart phone text and number can do, but I appreciate having a second line on my phone. The customer service is okay but not as friendly or upbeat as Amazon customer service.

    Cost effective, easy to use
  • Ok

The app is ok but needs work. It freezes often and often looses service, so I wouldn’t recommend if needed to use on a daily/constant basis for calls. Texting seems to work much better.
  • Poor Functionality

Worked for a little bit. About 8 months in and I miss calls and texts constantly, can’t send anything except photos via attachments and a woman calls me at all hours speaking in another language. Not worth $100/year, just get a regular cell phone number and save yourself the aggravation.
