    In-app upgrades don’t seem to work. The care.com team kept saying that they don’t see the money I paid via iTunes and that they can’t adjust my account even after showing them receipts. I’ve exchanged emails with a few people who were copying & pasting template answers - it was very disappointing. The reps were telling me that I have to have iTunes process the refund and make a new payment directly on care.com website and that I should do that on a computer. I am not sure why the in-app upgrade option is available if it clearly doesn’t work? The reps I spoke with said that they can’t apply the payment I’ve processed through the iTunes to my account - which is strange because iTunes is just a facilitator of payments and the money goes to care.com.. very disappointed with the app, the service or rather the lack of service. I don’t have the faith that if I were to use the site and I had encountered issues of any type that they would help so I will not be using care.com and will make sure to spread the word so other people don’t have same issues

    I’ve used Care.com to find babysitting jobs off and on for almost seven years. I recently decided to download again to find a nanny gig for when I go back to school this fall. In the past I have seen options to pay for a premium account, which helps your profile appear to more people. Makes sense and no big deal, I can still use the key functions of the site without. Apparently that has evolved to where you can’t even MESSAGE without paying. Like, the whole premise of the site... is to get in contact with families that need your services... and now that requires MONTHLY payments........ So you can go through the whole process of setting up your profile, uploading pictures, writing a bio, and then start applying. It isn’t until you go to the messages section (and idk if this is normal, but my applications didn’t appear here until about 24 hours later?). When you click on one of the applications you’ve sent, that’s where it prompts you to upgrade (starting around $20/mo) if you want the family to be able to respond. ........????? Total bull. Not the Care.com I used to know and love. I’m so disappointed. I contacted support to request a refund on my background check, since I had just paid for it before discovering all of this. I will come back to this review to update on how that goes.

    I was so close of finding a job as a nanny. I applied for a job and I had a mom messaged me and we were going back and forth, everything was great and a week later she messaged me and asking me if I was still interested I messaged her back (or I thought I did) and I said yes I wanted to meet her and her little 11 month (probably now 12 months old) but suddenly she stoped responding to me. The message said delivered but she did not read it. This website and app is crap I need to find a job and no one is responding to me now. I had almost two jobs lined up but both fell though. Don't bother using this website or app your wasting your money and time. Find another website. I wish I could give this 0 stars the parents should be forced to pay not the caregivers. Care.com is completely wast of time and has really bad customer care. 👎🏻 👎🏻

    I hate this app but there’s not really much choice. I hate that stupid pop ups keep appearing in the middle of my messages asking if I hired anyone, etc. I’ll let you know if we do - stop bothering

    I wish now that I had gone another route to find a nanny. I found more serious candidates to puppy sit my dog on Roover.com than to watch my newborn on this app. This is my child! 9/10 people I talked with were total flakes. Set up calls and got ghosted many times. It was almost laughable. The app itself is terrible. It’s 2019. Get it together. Posting a job is difficult. Edits don’t save. Messages don’t update. What is the point! And I paid a yearly amount of ~$150. Such a rip off and now I’ve had to chose a nanny more out of desperation than getting to be selective. You are looking for future lawsuits with your flaky unreliable services because we are talking about caring for children. This isn’t handyman services or law mowing. It’s my newborn child! I wish I had gone another route. Do not rely on this app!!!

    It’s expensive and I didn’t need it for an entire year. Just for one time to find the right fit for my family. So I only signed up for one month and it was $40! But hopefully it helps me find a nanny 🤷‍♀️
  • Not great if you have vision challenges

    This review is only specific to vision accessibility. I was hoping that a company such as this matching caregivers would have put a little more energy and thought into the needs of their clientele. If you are visually impaired, this app does not work particularly well. However I do like the service!
