  • This app is horrible

This app is nothing at all like it was. It was different from all that other swipe right or left stuff in that you didn’t have to wait for people to like you back in order to contact them. You could win them over with a thoughtful message showing something you have in common. Now it’s just like all the other shallow swipe sites based off of looks only. What’s the point of crafting a thoughtful message if the person won’t even read it if they don’t like your profile. This site has become just like all the rest with these new changes an is not worth your time believe me on that !!!

They (OKC) really need to get the word out even more that Likes can’t be seen until there is a mutual Like. When 2 people Like each other then they can communicate. But not before then. Some brand new profiles say “can’t see likes, send me a message”. Those are either fake or pardon the pun, not getting the message about how OKC works now. Search filter results are weird. Different screens show different results. Some people show up in one search tab but not in the other and the search parameters are the same, only the sort order is different per OKC settings on those tabs. Editing my review... an “app developer” responded with nothing but a canned message that does nothing to suggest my review was read or heard with care.

I’ve meet some decent women on this site (and one mean and demented one). All one has to do is not expect OKC to work miracles and understand you get out of it what you put into it. They provide the opportunity...the rest is up to you.

We find partners we don't mesh with and its a sad thing to lose something you have become all too familiar with. A fresh start makes the most sense and this site has provided that. Thank you guys at OKC a classy site that makes me smile :)

For women, this app is great to promote their instagrizzle. For men, this app is a con job. On a daily basis, a fake account will like/message with a phone # and solicitation. But you can’t see who until you’ve swiped to “like” them. Fake accounts get deleted quickly but not the notification... this drives guys to swipe likes looking for that connection OKC promised to promote (or you can buy membership to finally see the toads and robots that like you). In turn this spams women with hundreds of “likes” per day. Worse still, OKC makes women wade into those spammed likes to find incoherent messages “promoted” at OKC’s ramdom discretion. What was once the best dating app has destroyed its greatest asset - the survey question matching system. It could easily use the survey questions as proof of work to earn limited messaging credits, thus eliminating the endless spam problem and reviving the match system with filters. As it is now, it is even more frustrating than Tinder and borderline unethical. Also, the app design/art was change into something childlike and sadly reflective of such a terrible app. Update: If the developer wants to move beyond a canned response, they can start by replying to my message I already sent earlier from their website complaining about the nature of spammy likes, fake accounts, and everything addressed above. It’s a waste of my time to try to do their job to moderate the hundreds of fake accounts on their website. Other users already do this- leading to the quagmire of a false notification as described above. Next they can actually acknowledge the ethical issue of motivating membership purchases from notifications caused by scam accounts.
  • Message glitch

I can see the first 2 lines of a message in my inbox but when I actually click on the message, the new message isn't there. The person I am talking to said my messages to him are also disappearing.... how we supposed to do this, Cupid? Edited because I can't respond to your response: that is not the problem. This is a person I have already matched with and am already in a conversation with. Our messages are disappearing mid conversation. Like, open the message thread and the ones we have previously sent are gone... like Snapchat.

Update: I jumped the gun with giving this app 1 star since apparently they proved they CAN make it worse. I wish I could reduce it to 0 stars. In addition to removing who viewed you which has driven messaging and interactions way down for me, they have now gone ahead and blocked messages incoming from people you haven’t liked/messaged. They say it’s so that women don’t get their mailbox filled with spam (which I get) but for guys this is counterproductive. Guys don’t get as many messages to begin with and as of late I’ve noticed a badge app icon will appear showing I have 2 notifications when sometimes I have just 1 or none at all. Kind of click-bait(ey) if you ask me. Also, I’ll often get a notification saying someone sent me a message, go into the app, and nothing’s there. I go to the swipe section to see if there’s a profile there waiting for me to “like” in order to view the message but nope, nothing there either. This app has been rendered pretty useless in my opinion. Previous review (still relevant): My guess is that the free feature of seeing your visitors was taken away so that you have to pay to see who liked you. There really isn't another way of coming across a list of people that at least found you initially interesting unless you can see who viewed you. Not to mention someone can "like" you without viewing your profile which makes them much less likely to be serious about you. Being able to see who visited you gives you a clear idea about who is more serious about you. It seems all businesses are moving away from accommodating customer requests so I have little hope they'll bring this feature back considering the fact they are copy+pasting the same generic developer response in every 1 star review here.

I liked it better when you got messages from people that weren’t mutual. You never know what kind of person you could find from those people that you didn’t originally like. Kind of disappointed.
