  • A Lesson in Frustration!

Does anyone at the Tribune read these reviews? If so, what the hell is going on? From the number of bad reviews, it’s clear your App is useless, but you do nothing to fix it. It consistently freezes and fails to function. I know you guys are tight on cash, but ignoring these problem will only drive subscribers away. (BTW: the Suntimes’ App works a hell of lot better!)
  • Where’s the Story?

Worst app out there. Just give me a blank page after clicking a story on the iPhone X. Does it on and off when it feels like it. But doesn’t do it on an iPad 10.5 Figure that out. Plus they charge me to be able to read the articles. Trib is Gr8 taking your money but not giving you the story.
  • Bad app

You would think that when electronic media is the only way for a newspaper to survive, it would try to have the best app. This one is worse than those in small towns. It doesn’t show recent news unless you ask it to. It starts with an annoying full screen advertisement. And the news updates are old. When there was a recent shooting tragedy, I got the news first in a national newspaper app. Even got local election results faster elsewhere, even though i pay for the Tribune. Whoever is responsible for this app should be held responsible for the final demise of the Tribune.
  • Horrible App Experience

The reviews are true — too many adds; some stories don’t open; news not updated enough; LA Times app is cheaper and better. Same corporation? I don’t get it. I canceled my subscription.
  • New ads unacceptable for subscribers

These ads when you open the app are ridiculous, a slap in the face for a paying and long time customer
  • $7.99 per month and ads

If you want to pay $8 a month and see ads and be forced to see a ten second splash ad for Empire Carpets and other local Chicago treasures, this is the app for you.
  • App often freezes when trying to open an article

Like other reviewers, this app is very frustrating. The summary of noteworthy news loads, but pressing on some sends the app off into endless loading and a blank screen. Closing it is the only option. Very disappointing.
  • Ads are muting other apps and music

I normally like to read the articles while I listen to music or SiriusXM. The new ads on the app are muting the music or other apps that I am listening to . I am paying for a subscription and should not be subjected to ads that interfere with my reading. This app has given me problems over the last 6 months and I finally have had enough. The content for the Tribune is good but the app quality is very poor. I cancelled my subscription today and am moving on.

Too many ads just to read the free headline stories. I wanted to just try the App at no cost to get an idea of news coverage. No, thanks I am deleting.
  • Ads and more ads

The only reason to use this app (instead of your web browser): you prefer lots of timed full screen ads, and you prefer obnoxious auto-play videos. Even subscribers get the timed full screen ads and obnoxious auto-play videos. Don’t bother.
