  • Junk app

This app is absolutely junk. I’m on a 4 year subscription and at least every other month the app won’t let me log in, or it doesn’t recognize my password, or my saved issues are lost, etc. This has been going on for at least a year. Every time the problem seems to be fixed and the app works OK for a month, it does again. Really needs to be rebuilt from the ground up as a proper magazine app. This is terrible. Just true garbage.
  • Restoring purchase doesn't work

Logged in, logged out. Restored purchase several times. Still no luck. Odd how my subscription fee was almost immediate however. Now that I've had no response from Ten, I purchased another subscription. My eyes aren't good enough to read my print subscription anymore. Which brings me to this. On my iPad running 9.3.3 iOS, I double tap the screen to increase the size of the font for comfortable reading. After about 1 minute of this zoomed in reading, the app CRASHES and shuts down. Constantly. What can be done about this?????
  • Keeps Crashing

This month’s version crashes every few minutes. Something is wrong with it. You can’t even finish an article before it shuts itself down.

I’ve loved Automobile Magazine since its inception. Unfortunately, the current version of this app randomly crashes which makes reading my subscription cumbersome. Please fix this!

I have a digital and print subscription yet with each new issue i can only preview the new issue until something happens in the background. My previous issues are there, this is the only app that has this problem. I just wait till the mag comes in my mailbox.

First, understand that reviews older than 2017, apply to the previous app which was excellent! Automobile is a premium magazine. The previous app was a premium app. This is comparable to a pdf, with the added disadvantage that you have to put up with banner ads telling you to subscribe even though you have been a subscriber for over 20 years. You, also, have to put up with deleting the app multiple times a year in order to “fix” a problem the developer cannot otherwise resolve. This might be days or weeks after a magazine is found to be unreadable. Of course, while the previous app let you access any magazine going back many years, this one gives you around a years worth, no matter how long a subscriber. Sad, very sad, but I doubt the new publisher will change their decision, despite the need for a good digital product as people continue to move away from print. False economy! I read it less now because of the frustrations, especially the deleting, reinstalling and downloading the magazines, repeatedly required. At this writing, most lately required to read the March 2018 edition. My subscription, initiated when David E. Davis Jr. created the magazine, will end soon, and this time will not be renewed. Perhaps this detailed review will create a response more appropriate than the “tell us what’s wrong and we’ll help you ‘fix’ it”, again, and again, and again......................... April 6, 2018 update. It is interesting to me that, even after a long, thorough critique of this current Automobile App, I once again receive a “please tell us what’s wrong” message. Perhaps it is automated.
  • Great magazine, useless app

The app randomly deletes issues and the only way to get them back is to delete the entire app and start over. This is extremely frustrating. What’s the point of saving the issues for offline use when there’s a good chance you’ll have to download them when you want them? Following tech support’s instructions doesn’t help because this apparently isn’t an error that can be resolved by a refresh or signing in with different credentials. I’d gladly take the old version of the app that just displayed PDFs of the issues because at least I knew those issues would be there when I’m away from WiFi.
  • Completely broken and useless!

Zero stars. How am I supposed to download the December 2017 issue!?!? I am a subscriber but it's not giving me the option to download, only to purchase?! This is horrible. So frustrating. I just want to be able to read what I paid for!!

This was a great app. Now it stinks. It also took away all my old saved issues. Extremely unhappy. Probably will go back to paper after several great years.

I have subscriptions to both Automobile and MotorTrend and by updating to OS11 I have lost me ability to access my digital magazine subscriptions. Will I get reimbursed or will these Apps be fixed immediately? Crummy service and a shame to publishers scamming in such a rude and careless way!!!
