  • Offline maps and content a great feature

    By edenecke
I have a wifi iPad and having the offline maps available when I am walking around a city in Europe and not connected to wifi is a lifesaver. iPad gps shows where I am and maps help get where I want to go. Downloaded offline Attraction descriptions from Wikipedia are an incredible value - like having a built in tour guide. Thanks Ulmon for a great app!
  • Good app but...

It would be more than a great app if the developers let you download more than one map without paying their over the top prices. I would pay the price if the app offers something unique, but there are plenty of other applications on the appstore which are better and do not need in-app purchases.

This is an amazing app that works offline if you download it prior to your trip. We have used it abroad in 8-10 countries so far! Highly recommend it.
  • Must Have Travel Companion

I’ve been using this app for years now and it’s a must have for every international trip I go on. The best feature is being able to use the maps offline. Before my trips, I save everything interesting I want to see. Then when I’m there, I can turn my data off and just use location services to find my way around.
  • Best off-line guide

    By Strasbourger
I’ve use Ulmon’s CityMaps2Go in Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Strasbourg, Berlin, Marseille, Montpelier, Lyons, Tunis, Cordoba, Seville, Frankfort, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Aachen, Basel, Bern, Geneva, Milan, Rome, Munich, Vienna, Heidelberg, Leeds, Manchester, Lisbon, Porto, Antananarivo, Taipei, Tokyo, Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, and a score of other places I can’t remember. It works without fail, and requires no data connection. The discover feature is great, and has led to some good finds that guidebooks can overlook—but don’t rely on this exclusively, and take the ratings with a grain of salt, as one must with all hive mind productions. Typically I mark my guidebook’s and other suggestions as “favorites” and work out an itinerary from the the clusters. This is a great way to travel in cities. There’s always room for improvement: I wish I could dismiss the “low gps signal” alert, as it takes up half the screen and sometimes deep between buildings and inside them, the signal is never going to be good. Lots of stuff is missing or hard to find in places with a non-Roman script (things are not totally missing—when I searched in Japanese, I could find them). I don’t really care about the hotels and tours they try and sell, but you can ignore them all. I haven’t done much with sharing functions, but they could be better advertised and curated. The price is a bit steep for the pro version, but I’ve used it so much as to make the cost insignificant—about as much as a couple of guidebooks, and with far more value. If you’re going to do any city traveling, this is a top choice, and depending on your needs the pro upgrade could well be worth it.
  • Difficult to unzoom a map

    By Gaby Beirut
Once you zoom in on the map , it’s difficult to zoom back out. Pointless without that function.
  • Very poor app

    By t2tanker
I thought that this app was supposed to be help but very non intuitive across the board. Who the heck designed this?

  • Works As Advertised

The Ulmon map app has been my go to navigation system for years now. Not having Wii Fi in all areas I travel but being able to keep a bead on where I am is very handy. Great app!
