  • Clunky and ugly

    By Weatherglass
I lasted about a minute before deleting this clunker of an app. Instead of just showing you a list of your show’s episodes, it shows you a short list and makes you click “load more” ad infinitum, giving you another couple with every click, working backwards chronologically. I wanted to listen to episode 1 in a show with over 500 episodes, so the hell with that.
  • Way better than apple podcast app.

    Way better than podcast app
  • Lovely Interface and Features

    By Qstaley921
I recommend Pocket Casts, which is far superior to the dreadful Spotify podcasts experience, and is quite more refined than Apple’s bloated experience. Casts is all an application, especially a podcast application, needs to be. I am curious, however with skepticism, to see how willing the developers are to add even more features; for instance, I’ve always wished for the ability to add personal notes to my podcasts, but I’ve not found an app that can do that yet. Here’s to hoping 😬
  • This is the one!

Once i switched to this player, i found i was listening to more of whatever i felt like at that moment, missing fewer episodes, almost never having to stream (vs download), and spending zero time managing storage space
  • Huge lack in capability

    By Putz26
I used this app for a long time. It was my favorite podcast app by far. Out of curiosity I went back to the Apple podcast app to see how it felt. The one thing Pocket Casts is missing is good discoverability. For some reason it’s severely lacking compared to Apple’s it’s just not easy to discover other podcasts you might like. It’s like going to my bedroom bookshelf verses Barnes and Noble. My other big problem is it took a very long time to bring us a Watch app and it’s pretty much unusable. Now that the watch has a now playing complication built in it takes a split second to pause or skip ahead in a podcast. My work day is almost entirely dependent on my podcasts at this point so quick response and finding new ones to listen to are massive. Definitely deserves 3 stars, because of all the third party efforts, this is the best. It just can’t touch Apple’s depth.
  • So good! Goodbye Apple Podcasts!

    By J.D.P.S.
After Apple made their Podcasts app super clunky and buggy with iOS 11 (why does it take a whole minute to load each time it’s been closed? And why would they get rid of the "mark as played" feature?), I am so happy to have found Pocket Casts. It is intuitive, rarely freezes, and syncs well across devices. Thank you, Shifty Jelly!
  • From iOS 11 to Overcast to now Pocketcasts

I love how it's sync between computer , iOS and Android as I often utilize all three. Chromecast and Airplay? You bet, Video podcast ? Yup, got that too. Clean UI and intuitive which helps navigating around the app as well as volume boost and trim silence something I used similarly on overcast so glad it has this features too. P4P best podcast for one time fee and not a subscription based model.
  • Great podcast app, except download management

    By Spencer E Holtaway
This is a great app that works quickly and best of all (for me) has a Sonos integration, making it the only podcast app that works well and lets me listen to podcasts at home on my speakers. Thank you for this! The only fairly major improvement I’d like to see is the “delete download” option in more places. From what I can tell, I can only delete files from my iPhone from the “clean up” section which is buried in main nav > downloads > overflow menu > clean up. In all other apps I’ve used I’m able to delete a podcast download from anywhere I see it in the UI, which makes management much easier. Right now I can only mark episodes as “played” but can’t delete them individually, as far as I can tell.
  • My preferred Podcast App

    By ayobonus
This app is amazing. I’m coming over from using Overcast. Pocket Casts UI and design blows Overcast out of the water, which is the main reason why I switched over. I have no complaints so far, and everything about this app is great. The only reason why I’m withholding one star is because of the Apple Watch app. It’s great (better than Overcast’s Watch app), but it baffles me that you can change the volume in the app! Give us the ability to change the volume in the Watch app, and this will be easily 5 stars.
  • Much better than iOS 11 app! Perfect podcast app.

    By jo2jo
Update: I’ve been using podcasts app for a little over a month, and it is still absolutely flawless, it does exactly what I want , perfectly. Please do not waste any time with free apps or anything else, by this app if you listen to podcasts. Ditch the iOS trash built-in podcasts app. (Apple should be ashamed of themselves) Thank you, for writing a fast, clean, easy to use podcast app that properly works with apples built in podcast controls (Ie control center widget, lock screen, etc. on iOS 11). For some reason I foolishly thought that Apple only allowed it’s default/built in podcast app, to access Apple podcast content (ie the shows). So I never thought to find a third-party podcast. On iOS 10 I thought the Apple podcast app was a little awkward but worked fine for what I needed (accessing and the streaming the daily updated shows from podcasts I listen to, each day). iOS 11 podcast app was updated and is simply atrocious, and frankly is trash interface and usability wise. It is super difficult to navigate, near impossible to get to a shows latest episode (or even find out/confirm if the days episode has been published yet) and actions that required one or two taps on the ios10 podcast app, now require 3 to 6 space on the iOS 11 podcast app. It’s frankly trash in typical apple doesn’t listen to any feedback from users, simply search the web you’ll see many users of taking the time to write long and detailed posts about how horrible the podcast iOS 11 app is. Regardless of iOS 11 trash podcast app, that update led me to this app and I’m super happy with it! it was well worth the four dollars. Thanks!
