  • Version 7 😱

How is this app still #2 after its monthslong freefall? Rating is now in line with other NPR apps. The latest update is awful; clunky and bloated. No longer a power user app. Completely dumbed down for the masses, which was their goal. It seems too many people were confused by Auto Clean-up so they removed it. Developer is snarky when they reply. I've moved on from what was once my most used app. Joe might be a nerd but his podcatcher (icatcher!) app is first rate.
  • Disappearing podcasts

After the last update the app now unsubscribes me from the last podcast I’m listening to. I use an iPhone 7+. And I never got used to the new layout. Liked the old one better it was easier to use the up next feature. Won’t use it anymore.
  • Update Ruined it for Me

Loved, Loved, Loved this app until they destroyed it with the latest update. Ability to specify the number of episodes to keep for each podcast was critical to me. I learned of the change when my app storage ballooned to 23GB! Fortunately there are other apps with this feature so adios.
  • Can't Say Enough Good Things About This App!

I've tried all the top podcast apps and this one is clearly the best! I use it on my iPhone, iPad, and I purchased the web app. This recent update made me finally stop dabbling with overcast and commit to Pocketcasts completely. I love the features and all the customization available. The tile view helps me stay on top of shows I don’t include in filters. And of course, I absolutely love the up next list. Being able to choose certain podcasts for auto download saves me time and the fact that I can add them automatically to the up next list means I get up in the morning and my listening list for the day is ready to go! Glad to see the devs are committed to this app and are constantly working to improve it. Keep up the great work!!!
  • Please add folder option

    By chisb5
I love how this app has a ton of features but is simple and looks amazing. I just wish there was a way to add topic folders to save episodes into. That way you could make a sports topic folder or a spiritual folder and so on. Keep up the great work
  • Loved the app before the last major update.

After the latest update I can't set the player in landscape mode, or easily find where to add all the new episodes to my "up next" as a podcast lisenter that uses pocketcasts when I drive it's made the app almost completely unusable. Sadly, I'm looking for other more driver friendly podcast apps that I can easily queue all my podcasts so I don't have to touch my phone when driving.
  • New user hoping for swipe to mark-as-played button

    By Tiff-Knee
Long time podcast listener, first time Pocket Casts User. I just moved on from Castbox which I loved but started to have too many playback issues. Overall love the look and ease of use of this app, the filter feature is especially cool for those of us that subscribe to a lot of different pods. The queuing has worked great for me, and I love the customization (theme colors, app icon color) options that not a lot of other apps have. Because I just switched from another podcast listening app I’m working on marking episodes that I’ve listened to as “played” so I can tell which I still need to listen to. Although there is a mass “archive” option which automatically hides the episodes from the list (a setting which I have turned off since I still want to see archived episodes), it does not gray them out. The only way to gray out these episodes is to tap on the episode, mark as played, then tap back out. I noticed that when looking at an episode list you can swipe left to archive a single episode, but not mark as played. My hope in writing this review is to tell other people looking for a new podcast listening app that this app is great and worth the money, and my one hope is that they make it easier to mark episodes as played.
  • Update Ruined the App

    By Madmartigan7
I’ve been using this app for years. Since they’ve updated the app a few months ago it’s been one of the most difficult and least user friendly apps I use daily. I have no idea why they made these changes, but I’m officially in the market for a new app. Look elsewhere.
  • Tragedy

There is no good reason to have blown up 6.9 in favor of this mess. These new people are a different breed than that nice folks that used to be the face of Shifty Jelly.
  • Ok app, love the Chromecast feature

So I like the app generally, my only criticism is playback controls aren’t available on the lock screen, it’s annoying that I have to unlock the phone to pause a podcast
