    Love the product but it crashes daily. Hasn't been updated since Dennis Kucinich was mayor.

    You would think a company in an industry fighting for its life would make sure its technology actually works. Time and time again this app crashes, won't load a particular issue or has articles so blurry they can't be read. It's ridiculous.

    I have not experienced the issues others point out here, but I would add three other annoyances. I have been using this app for at least a couple of years. There are functional issues which appear quite obvious to me, but seems that the developer doesn't. I don't like the large spaces between an article which continues on another page in the paper, but leaves a large gap when reading the text view of the article. The gap that appears doesn't respond to touch so careful finger placement is needed to navigate to the top of the text appearing below the gap in order to slide the screen and continue reading the article. When finished with an article (in the text reader) the app returns you to the first page of that section of the newspaper. This is very unnatural as I am accustomed to reading an article on a page and then returning to that page not jumping to another page and then having to navigate back to where I was. The last huge annoyance is returning to the app, after pausing for anything else that happens in life, only to open the app and wait while it reloads the current issue starting on page "A1". When I read a newspaper and finish an article, I usually leave the page open to continue where I left off. A SIMPLE BOOKMARK OPTION WOULD BE NICE. Question is, does the developer ever use this app to read the newspaper?

    Impossible, klugey, awkward. The Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com have the digital presence of a company that's desperate to go out of business. Why? I love the PD. I want to read it every morning on my phone or IPad. But these knucklehead apps make every morning an exercise in frustration. Dear Owners of the PD: go to the Cleveland Clinic website and apps and see how grown ups manage digital communication.
  • The PD could screw up a one car funeral

    This has always been a useless paper other than some sports coverage and the comics. The app is even more pathetic than the paper itself and every time they "fix it", it gets worse.
  • No longer works

    Since the upgrade you can no longer open any editions. How can they publish an app that completely stops working? I'll give it two week before I cancel my subscription.
  • Can't read blurry articles

    Reading epaper. Bug appears when an article image is rendered as opposed to the text. For example comics and Terry Troy Automotive. I find I have to kill off the app and restart it to correct the rendering problem. One additional unrelated problem - when asking for login, I frequently copy / paste my user name and password. The Plain Dealer app is the only app I have seen that doesn't maintain my login id when I exit the app to copy my password.

    I called four times to get help for the latest snafu and was promised an e-mail to help me correct the problem. Never received! Lost three days of no paper. No one at PD knew how to solve the problem including a supervisor! Went to the Twinsburg library and their computer person got me up and running! DAH! Poor app and even poorer staff!
  • App Upgrade - Really

    Last week the brain trust at the PD 'upgraded' their much loved App. Subscribers were sent an email with a notification and a link to a 15 page PDF user guide for the upgrade. Someone forgot to do a quality control check because the App upgrade did not work. The ever friendly help desk customer services specialist says that the only workaround is to delete the App and reinstall it. Really? I didn't get that email or see that workaround in the 15 page guide. Plain dealer going from bad to worse.
