  • Try & try again

This is an excellent try at an alternate news format.
  • Google News Is Best For Tech News

    By Demultiplexer
I enjoy the Tech News on Google News, the most. Google products are advancing at a fast pace, so I get caught up with features and opinions. But when it comes to political points of view, Google has some main stream favorites that have let me down. I read one or two news articles occasionally, just to get the hype that they are pushing, as a way to understand those who believe it word for word.
  • The best

Whenever I want the best news as quickly as possible, I go to google news.
  • News headlines are words, not video or a picture

    By Hvarzan
The list of stories shows a large picture or video with the headline inside. Ugh. The Headlines app shows a small picture with the headline next to it, in black lettering on white background. Far better. Headlines are words, not images, and a good user interface gives them precedence. This app does not. I’m going back to Headlines.

Prefer original format for easier browsing.
  • Not organized

    By emom8915
Preferred news organized in categories the way it used to be.
  • Power hungry and unstable

    By Jesseo8
I used to rave but now it just eats up power and is poorly built for iPhone. I can’t stand that it uses up so much power/processing on my iPhone X. Old opinion: It’s simple, there are NO ads (unlike Apple News), and the user interface is much better. Also personal recommendations are much more intuitive. Love it!
  • Should be user based and not location based

    By Allawala
The app relies heavily on user location to customize news. While this is great, it gets thrown awry when using a VPN. Otherwise, great app.
  • Missing some key features.

    By willdan444
My biggest problem is that I am afraid to use the ‘more/less stories like this’ feature. Some stories have so many different topics that it is hard to just say ‘less’ when I don’t know what I am exactly saying ‘less’ to. What if I like some parts of the story, but dislike others? Samsung has a feature when I say I like a story and want more it asks which parts I want more of. Then I can say less and it asks which parts I want less of. It gave me a much more customized news feed. Now I don’t want to say ‘less’ because maybe it talks about a sports team I like, but I don’t want to say ‘more’ because last time I did that I kept getting stories about a team I don’t like because they were mentioned once in the article.
  • Can’t control categories easily

    By Skeptical25
I am not sure what happened, but I can’t seem to control my Google News feed categories easily any more. I have used Google News for years, and I am now confused as to how to get it to read the news I want. I want to eliminate some of the standard categories, replace with my custom categories, and have it show up easily so I can scroll it all looking for something to read.
