I like this service. I wish I could search all the meals using a searchbar or by meat or by type of meal. For instance I would love more instant pot recipes but I search for them and they never come up. We like the clean eating menu. I originally tried the budget friendly one and I was grossed out by the processed and premade food ingredients. I’m gonna stick with it though I like how easy it is to use the shopping list and how everything gets catergorized.

My wife and I can plan an entire week of meals for our family in just a few minutes. Then, with the app’s ability to export our shopping list for Walmart Grocery Pickup or Instacart delivery, we get back the time we used to spend grocery shopping. eMeals has helped us substantially cut our food waste and has eliminated the need those last minute mid-week trips to the store. The time and money this app has helped us save has been worth every penny.
  • Few good menus

Has a few good menus but not enough to warrant the price. We are watching our diets so we cannot use many of these menus. It is just not realistic for us.

I’m very pleased with the choices and convenience of these meals! We are newly married and working hard on our new house in a new town and I just hated reverting to pizza due to the time and effort it takes to learn where everything is in a new store etc. This app has really distressed the meal making process, help me budget as a new wife and allows us to enjoy one another’s company after a long days work. Thank you so much!!!

Extremely disappointing app without clear way to exclude recipes with allergies. Only one vegetarian plan. I wanted vegetarian dinner and a vegetarian lunch menu. Nope.
  • Such a Timesaver!

I used eMeals years ago when they first came out. I wished and hoped for an app and they have one and now I am back! You can even send your grocery list to your grocery app for easy shopping. There is no excuse to not know what’s for dinner anymore. They make it so easy and simple. This helps you feed you family wholesome meals (no matter what your food choices are) when you don’t have the time to think and prep a meal plan for the week!
  • More work than it’s worth.

Can’t search by multiple meal types. I’m vegetarian so that limits me to two menus and the majority of them don’t fit my other requirements. I can browse other menus but they require too much adaptation to work. Also they make it very difficult to cancel the trial. There’s no straightforward menu option.

I do love this app. I was looking for some help getting out of the “dinner rut” I was in. Anyone can meal plan, but this app really makes it so much more efficient. This has been perfect for my family, and I was sold even before my free trial ended. That was about three months ago. I happily paid $60 for the year, and the app more than pays for itself in grocery savings. What I love: —the recipes are GOOD. Out of the more than 30 recipes I’ve made so far, let’s say 2-3 didn’t go over well with my family (Young children who aren’t picky). Those are better odds than I had before when trying to meal plan by myself. —the blend of prepackaged shortcuts and scratch cooking. Even if I use a few prepackaged timesavers in a recipe, it still feels like a home cooked meal from scratch —the ingredients overlap a lot, which is great! It saves me money and less food waste. And they do the work for you, which is the best part! I was not as good as making use of ingredients I already had on hand. Even from week to week, recipes call for many of the staples I now already have on hand —this is minor but I love how the recipes use package-sized amounts. For example, “one 8oz jar of pesto” instead of “one cup of pesto” means I can just dump the whole thing in and I don’t have to measure it, saving me time and dishes/utensils to wash. —prep and cook time estimates pretty spot on, which is rare, in my opinion/experience —pretty basic app and not complicated to use. This is a pro and a con, because I do wish it had some more features, but I like that it’s not busy. —I haven’t used this feature but it sounds cool: it connects to grocery delivery services so you don’t have to leave your house and eMeals made your list for you, complete with package sizes and sometimes brand names What could be improved: —I’ve already emailed their customer support to request it, but some way of saving recipes for later would be great. Part of the fun of the app is the new menu of seven recipes (per category) I get every Wednesday. But I can only make 3-4 each week. There is a “favorites” option, but I choose to use that for recipes we have already tried and would make again, not as something to “save for later,” if that makes sense —the UI (user interface) is a little clunky. There’s not a lot of features so it’s easy enough to navigate, but it isn’t intuitive and could use some updating. Overall, five stars, two thumbs up, highly recommend. This app sparks joy, I hope you like it.
