  • Good app

I tried other language learning apps, but I didn't like them. This one's the only one that I didn't delete. In-app purchases are a bit pricey, but you can still use the app for free and wait until prices go down a bit, hopefully.
  • not what I wanted

Don’t click on a link that says something about a 20% discount thinking you will be viewing an explanation. In my case it just automatically charged my card.....and without the discount. I have written to them 3times without a reply so far. I was searching for an app that might work for both me and my friend who had a stroke and at a time like this with life being as challenging as it is this is pretty obnoxious. Not even replying seems pretty cold to me. Tried to contact 3x with no results. Memrise should fix the button that automatically signs you up without any explanation or discount at all. If I could give you no stars at all I would. I will change this review when my money is refunded. I hav absolutely no need and no time for a language app right now.

  • Planning a trip to Brazil in a year ...

And this app is really keeping my morale up. It’s extremely intuitive and in my opinion a more fluid, organic approach than other popular intro to language apps. As an English grammar nerd and romance language lover (though never fully completing Spanish & Italian in college), I love seeing the literal translations, hearing the pronunciation, and learning how to write it all at once. It’s captivating. And although I’m in my late twenties, the kid in me really loves seeing my growth with all the little graphics. 🌸 My roommate is Brazilian & I hear a lot of similarities in the app so it also feels very authentic. Love the free product so far, and may even try the premium version. Hope this continues! 🇧🇷

  • Good to use, can be fun.

This app is not like many others. I’ve tried duolingo and that app makes you repeat the words after like 2 weeks! It’s very annoying. But with Memrise you can practice the words you’ve already learned and if you’d like there is an option to learn new words!

  • I am learning Spanish!

I work in retail and need to learn Spanish for my own personal gain. They use many different ways to test you for example, writing out the words, clicking the proper sounded out of the word, etc. very good app!
  • Potentially Good but certainly expensive

I downloaded the free version and have been enjoying it so far, but I don’t want to spend $100 for the unlimited version unless I know for sure that I will actually use it in the later stages of learning Mandarin Chinese. I wish the free version went a little bit further, or that it was $50 instead of $100 for the unlimited one.
