  • Spyware

Google home posts upwards of 4mb a day to telemetry endpoints even if I never watch netflix. If I block the endpoints I can’t use chrome cast, it says that it can’t connect to WiFi. I’ll never buy another google product again, I’m tired of any hardware I buy having “allow us to perversely monitor your personal life” or “deny all (warning your device may not work properly)” permission modeling. It would be okay if products were free- but I pay for them. Why can’t I just use the hardware I paid for without Google getting all creepy about monitoring when I go pee pee? It’s weird as hell, man.

I purchased the JBL link 10 its no different then the link 20. You can transport the 10 better. Google assistant is nice. Consider the app and the smart speaker
  • Chromecast stopped working and the app is so basic, the problem cannot be identified. Sad

  • Good for stationary Chromecast

If this app could remember More than one WiFi network I would give it a higher rating. Also it is time consuming and irritating to remember how to “set up” your Chromecast if you travel a lot and need to connect to a new network. Especially when the first step is connecting to the Cast’s WiFi signal. Which I don’t always remember and have to Google it because the app doesn’t have that clearly stated anywhere. Make the changes and this rating goes up!
  • How to teach it

    By Herky Patty
Disappointed I cannot do simple things such as edit items, or delete the entire shopping list without accessing the app. Once in the app I have no clue how to edit. The unit often says, I can’t help with that yet, but it gives no information on how to teach it new things. ??? If there are options available that I’m unaware of I would like to know how to access them. I am almost 60 years old, and usually pretty savvy when it comes to using apps, but I feel I’m not using this unit to it’s full potential.
  • Good but could be better...

For the most part Google home app is easy to set up and use however it is missing help in some areas. I have two gmail accounts and my wife has one. I can’t add the s condo or third account and the help offered when I google for this information does not have the corresponding titles in google home as directed on line. Also, I am using an iPad and the google mini syncs with my contacts but not my I added google calendar and it syncs with my Apple Calendar... no problem, even with multiple accounts and sharing some of our calendars with my wife. Google home will not or cannot sync with our calendars. Otherwise it’s good and does most things as advertised.
