  • Workflow engineering in its best form

I was co-author for several books about workflow for Adobe Press (Workflow Re-engineering and Teams and the Graphic Arts Service Provider). Tools like this would have changed my life. We used to do workflow plans on thousands of pieces of legal paper. This is an elegant tool for something most people should do but few do; project planning. From designing web interfaces and content requirements to making sure the electrician shows up on time for your new pool permit approval, this software will be your best friend.

This is one of my absolute favorite apps. Thank you for continuing to add features. I've shown this to many of my friends and sometimes, when I present, people ask me 'Hey what app is that?'

Have used it on both iOS and Mac for years. Simply the best and always getting better!
  • I’ve tried all the rest - this is the best

The developer is active. I receive constant updates on both the iOS and Mac OS X editions. I began using this when I realized that Mindjet essentially gave up on their offerings for Mac. Syncing via cloud is perfect and I use it in a mission critical environment. Kudos!

  • I feel about iThoughts the way I would feel if I had bought Berkshire Hathaway in 1970

I feel like my initial investment gains value every time there is an update. I love, love, love, the way I can keep it open while reading a book on my Kindle and outline as I read. It is so easy to move thoughts around. Note how practically everyone gives this app 5 stars. If you are looking for a mind mapping tool, you have found the best!
  • Fluid powerful mindmapping

When the iPad first came out it was viewed as a consumption device, not a creation device. As apps have become more powerful the ability to create on the iPad has improved immensely. But for many tasks, desktop computers are still the best choice with the iPad as a tool for lighter work. Not so with iThoughts. The ability to quickly drag, zoom, type and even draw directly at a node with your finger makes this a more powerful tool than most desktop mindmapping programs. The developer has done an amazing job adding new features to this app. Now that Apple has given us better iCloud Drive access, the developer provided a great new sync solution via iCloud. I've tried several mind mapping apps now and none come close to iThoughts, although most cost the same or more. There's a lot to learn but if you want the best mind mapping app, this is it. As an update to my original review I’ve now bought the Mac version too and the syncing is great. Hands down the best mind mapping app out there.

This is a WONDERFUL mind-mapping program. It supports similar keyboard short-cuts as XMIND and provides a great interface, cloud integration, and a lot of features. Nice work!
  • Absolutely indispensable

This is the one active app that I use more than any other. It is constantly improving and the developer is extremely responsive. The ability to import content from the likes of Wikipedia wholesale with all the links in tact and operating added a whole new dimension to the functionality.
  • My favorite tool

iThoughts is the best mind mapper for iOS, period. It has excellent support for attachments and is more than just a brainstorming tool. For me, it replaced Evernote and Onenote as my project tracking and data management application. With a functional Windows desktop version and encryption support, it’s nearly perfect. The only two features I would suggest are the built in alarms and Face / TouchID unlock of encrypted files. I would also be more willing to trust this app with really sensitive data if the developers elaborated more on their encryption implementation and how it was vetted.
